Boruto is just a spoiled version of Naruto

Boruto is just messing things for Naruto
I mean when Naruto will come to know about this
He will be very sad

All ninja tools are allowed, and nobody told Boruto the tools weren't allowed; there is no reason for him to think to hide the tool... to me, this seems like nobody suggested as to why Boruto would feel shame for simply using a tool.

Boruto always feels some guilt when using it because he himself knows it’s cheating. You make a point but honestly it’s more than just winning, especially through cheating. It’s about honour among peers in the battle field and the test of a shinobi’s “naturally” honed skills, all classified under the name “jutsu” not “tool”

Yeah but there was no announcement that went, "There is a new invention that came out. Everyone is banned from using these unreleased inventions in the Chunin Exams."

Boruto doesn't know they are banned but I think he's feeling down because it is pretty much cheating. It's not using his own power and given that he has good morals he's feeling a bit guilty about using them even if he doesn't know they are banned. Smith is entirely right here, it's just we do have an understandable reason for the guilt.
